ASAD HUSSAIN: There are days when writing is like a river in full flow. And then there are days when it feels like a burden, a rock that refuses to budge. It is discipline and rigor as well as inspiration and intuition. All these shades of emotion are familiar to writers, which is why it feels truly special to be nominated for this honor by a group of fellow writers. Thank you for considering my work for this award, and for providing recognition for the role of writers in the industry.

असद हुसैन: एक दिन होता है जब लेखन किसी बहती नदी की तरह पूरी रफ्तार में होता है। और फिर ऐसे दिन भी होते हैं जब लेखन बोझ कि तरह, किसी पत्थर जैसे हिलने से इंकार कर देता है। यह अनुशासन और कठिनाई के साथ प्रेरणा और आंतरिक चेतना है। इस सारे रंग और एहसास से हर लेखक अच्छे से परिचित है, इसलिए अपने लेखक साथियों द्वारा इस पुरस्कार के लिए नामित होना बहुत खास बात है। इस पुरस्कार के लिए मेरे काम को चुने जाने पर और इस इंडस्ट्री में लेखकों की भूमिका को पहचान दिलाने के लिए मैं धन्यवाद देता हूँ।

दीपा मेहता: “मैं एसडबल्यूए को ‘लैला’ और हम सबको लेखन की श्रेणी में नामांकित करने के लिए धन्यवाद देना चाहती हूं। यह सूचना पाकर में बहुत ही सम्मानित, गर्वित और खुश हूं।”

PATRICK GRAHAM: I’ve been a proud SWA member since 2011 and I’m really thrilled that such an awesome organization has begun their own awards function. Writing is the foundation of any good series or film and it’s important that writers receive the recognition, credit, and fees that they deserve for their work – SWAs fight for these things tirelessly. I’m very grateful to receive this nomination and I’m excited to see how the quality of writing within our industry is getting stronger with every passing year.

पैट्रिक ग्रैहम: मैं 2011 से एसडबल्यूए का सदस्य हूँ और यह जान कर बहुत रोमांचित हूँ कि ऐसा सम्मानित और विश्वासपूर्ण संस्थान अपने स्वयं के अवार्ड समारोह कि शुरुआत किया है। लेखन किसी भी अच्छी वेब सिरीज़ या फिल्म की नींव है और यह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है कि लेखक अपने काम के लिए  उचित पहचान, परिश्रमिक और लेखन का श्रेय प्राप्त करें –जिसके लिए एसडबल्यूए निरंतर प्रयास करता रहा है। इस नामांकन के लिए मैं बहुत आभारी हूँ और यह देखकर रोमांचित हूँ कि हमारे इंडस्ट्री में लेखन कैसे हर साल मजबूत होते जा रहा है।

SUHANI KANWAR: Never before has there been such an urgent hunt for stories and content in the industry. Never before have we screenwriters had so many formats or platforms to choose from. But with all this opportunity, there’s also a pressing need for us writers to really think about what we want to say, why we are saying it, whose stories we want to tell, and how to tell them well. An awards event like the first-ever SWA Awards, focused purely on celebrating good writing, is welcome, perfectly timed, and something I’ll look forward to not just this year but every year from here on.

सुहानी कंवर: अब से पहले इस इंडस्ट्री में कहानियों की ऐसी जरूरी खोज नही थी। इसके पहले हम लेखकों को चुनाव करने के लिए इतने माध्यम और मंच नही थे। लेकिन इतने सारे अवसरों के बावजूद हम लेखकों को विचार करने कि जरूरत है कि हम कहना क्या चाहते हैं?, हम इस कहानी को क्यों कह रहे हैं?, हम किसकी कहानी कहना चाहते हैं?, और उसे बेहतर तरीके से कैसे कहें? एसडबल्यूए अवार्ड्स जैसे पुरस्कार का स्वागत है, क्योंकि यह सिर्फ बेहतरीन लेखन का जश्न मनाने के लिए है। यह सबसे उपयुक्त समय पर आ रहा है और इसका इंतज़ार न सिर्फ इस साल बल्कि अब से आने वाले हर साल रहेगा।

URMI JUVEKAR: I am absolutely delighted with this nomination. There is no better encouragement for a writer than being appreciated by one’s fellow writers.

उर्मि जुवेकर: मैं इस नामांकन से बहुत खुश हूँ। किसी लेखक के लिए उसके साथी लेखकों द्वारा सराहना किए जाने से बेहतर कोई प्रोत्साहन नहीं है।

DHRUV NARANG: SWA Awards are a great initiative, filling a big vacuum for authentic, craft-oriented honours. It is very humbling to be nominated by an organisation so sincerely committed to advancing the cause of screenwriting.

ध्रुव नारंग: एसडबल्यूए अवार्ड एक बहुत बड़ी शुरुआत है, जो किसी शिल्प के लिए समर्पित किसी वास्तविक सम्मान के अभाव कि पूर्ति करेगा। स्क्रीनराइटिंग कि बेहतरी के लिए पूरी निष्ठा से समर्पित संगठन, एसडबल्यूए द्वारा नामांकित होने पर मैं बहुत खुश है।

NIHIT BHAVE: I’m honoured and excited about being nominated for the first ever SWA Awards. It’s just the kind of boost a writer needs, especially during lockdown when we’re all struggling to create. I would also like to applaud SWA for their initiative towards recognising writing talent and putting their members front and centre. The association has, for long, protected and nurtured us and this is another great way of putting their might behind writers.

निहित भावे: एसडबल्यूए के पहले अवार्ड में नामांकित होने पर मैं बहुत सम्मानित और उत्साहित हूँ। ये किसी लेखक की जरूरतों को पूरा करने जैसा है खासकर तब जब इस लॉकडाउन के दौर में हम रचना करने के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे हैं। लेखकों कि प्रतिभा को पहचानने और अपने सदस्यों को आगे और मुख्य भूमिका में रखने की इस पहल के लिए मैं एसडबल्यूए कि सराहना करता हूँ। असोशिएशन ने लंबे समय तक हमें संरक्षण दिया और हमारा पोषण किया है, और अब लेखकों के लिए उनके सहयोग के उद्देश्यों को प्रगट करने का यह एक और शानदार तरीका है।

POOJA TOLANI: The SWA Awards is great news and a long time coming. It will be a great boost and encouragement for screenwriters to have their craft acknowledged by peers and seniors who know first-hand, just how much goes into writing. Also, we as an industry do need to acknowledge more (and more often), the invisible craft of screenwriting and its fundamental relevance in the filmmaking process – and the awards are a big step in that direction. I’m thrilled to be nominated for the first edition.

पूजा तोलानी: एसडबल्यूए अवार्ड्स एक बहुत बड़ी खुशखबरी है। पटकथा लेखकों के लिए अपने साथियों और लेखन कि मेहनत को समझने वाले वरिष्ठ अनुभवी लेखकों द्वारा पहचाना जाना बहुत प्रोत्साहन देने वाला है। इसके अलावा एक इंडस्ट्री के रूप में फिल्म मेकिंग की प्रक्रिया में सीधे ना दिखने वाले पटकथा लेखन के शिल्प और इसकी भूमिका को पहचाने जाने कि जरूरत है और यह अवार्ड उस दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम होगा। मैं इसके पहले आयोजन में नामांकित होने से बहुत रोमांचित हूँ।

VARUN GROVER: I am thrilled to be nominated for the first ever SWA Awards in two categories. It’s an award for the community by the peers and that makes it extra special. I had decided not to attend any regular film awards because of the way they treat writers and technicians – and it’s a great step forward that SWA decided to start awards where writers are in the front and center.

वरुण ग्रोवर: एसडबल्यूए अवार्ड्स में दो श्रेणियों में नामांकन पाकर मैं बहुत रोमांचित हूँ। यह अवार्ड लेखक समुदाय को अपने साथियों द्वारा दिया जा रहा है जो कि इसकी सबसे बड़ी खासियत है। मैंने लेखकों और तकनीशियनों के साथ व्यवहार करने के तरीके के कारण किसी भी नियमित फिल्म अवार्ड में शामिल नहीं लेने का फैसला किया था – लेकिन यह एक बड़ा कदम है कि एसडब्ल्यूएए ने अवार्ड शुरू करने का फैसला किया जहां लेखक सबसे आगे और केंद्र में हैं।

MARSTON BLOOM: It is always humbling to be acknowledged by one’s peers and that feeling is more pronounced when it comes from a community of writers like the SWA with such a vivid tradition of storytelling excellence. Thanks to the reach of OTT platforms the whole world can now see the incredible quality and ambition of Indian screenwriting and I’m delighted that Selection Day played a small part in this moment.

मार्स्टन ब्लूम: अपने साथियों द्वारा सराहे जाने का एहसास बहुत सुखद होता है, और यह तब और भी खास हो जाता है जब एसडबल्यूए जैसे लेखक समुदाय द्वारा दिया जाता है जिसके पास कहानी कहने के कौशल की एक उत्कृष्ट परंपरा है। ओटीटी माध्यमों कि पहुँच को धन्यवाद क्योंकि अब पूरी दुनिया भारतीय पटकथा लेखन की उच्च गुणवत्ता और उत्साह को देख सकती है। मैं बहुत खुश हूँ कि ‘सेलेक्शन डे’  इस जश्न के पल में एक छोटा सा हिस्सा बना।

SUMIT ARORA: I am extremely happy to know that I have been nominated for the first ever SWA awards. There has been some excellent work in the web space off late and it’s a privilege to be nominated amongst all these brilliant minds who have created that work.

सुमित अरोड़ा: एसडबल्यूए के इस पहले अवार्ड में मुझे नामांकित किया गया है, यह जानकर मुझे बहुत खुशी हो रही है। इधर के दिनों में वेब की दुनिया में काफी अच्छा काम किया गया है, ऐसे उम्दा काम करने वाले रचनात्मक लोगों के साथ नामांकित होना वाकई एक अच्छा अवसर है।

TANUJA CHATURVEDI: What truly makes this honour so unique is your work is appreciated, evaluated and valued by your peers and betters. To get this nomination, the first time SWA is instituting these awards, is the cherry on my cake. My congratulations to my fellow nominees!
