SWA Awards 2022 Submissions

Awards for Best Script Writing and Lyrics!

Please read the rules and regulations thoroughly before submitting your entry.

The SWA Awards was launched in 2020 on the occasion of Screenwriters Association’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. It is India’s first and only award exclusive for screenwriters and lyricists of Hindi Films, TV Serials /Shows and Web Series. To be appreciated by your own community of writers is what makes these awards special and thus the jury comprises of eminent screenwriters and lyricists from various mediums of the Hindi entertainment industry.

Objective
A major goal of the event is to recognize and celebrate the best screenwriting of the year in various categories. It also aims to introduce the entertainment industry to the best writers and lyricists and bring the best of writing content under spotlight based on appreciation of the craft rather than box office, TRP or popularity.

Award Categories

• Best Story/Screenplay/Dialogue in Films for both established writers and debutants.
• Best Story/Screenplay/Dialogue in Television.
• Best Story/Screenplay/Dialogue in Web Series – Original & Adaptation (Based on Book/Novel/Stageplay)
• Best Lyrics in Films & Television or Web Series

Important Information Before You Make Your Submission:

• Membership of SWA is not a criterion for the participating Writer/Lyricist
• No fee of any kind is to be paid for this. (No Submission fees will be charged by SWA)
• Only those movies that were released either in theatres or streamed on an OTT platform will be eligible for submission. The film will not be considered eligible for submission if it has been screened only at an Indian or international film festival.
• Authors of a film or web series released on YouTube can also submit their entry for the award if the production company producing the film or web series is a member of any one of the four producer associations based in Mumbai and the producer has signed a contract with the author.
• In the case of a sequel, the writers of the sequel are not required to get permission from the writers of the first season before submission. However, on winning, the names of the writers of Season 1 will be announced along with those of Season 2 writers.
• Only those writers/lyricists who have a writing credit on screen are eligible for submission. However, you are not eligible for submission if your name has appeared under the heads of Associate Writer, Script Consultant, or Script Head.
• Even if the producer and/or channel forbid him, the author may still submit his entry because the SWA will not screen the aforementioned TV series/web series on any other media or platform. The permission of the manufacturer or the channel is thus not necessary.
• The script and/or song of the nominated film, TV serial, web series, and/or song should not be pending or proved to be copyright infringement or script theft in the DSC of SWA or any other trade union or in a court of law.
• Members of the SWA Executive Committee may also submit their entries.

Submission and Eligibility:

• These will not be permitted to submit their entries: (Disallowed to submit their entries)
• Dubbed films, short films or films of less than 70 minutes’ duration will not be included in this award process.
• Authors of programs aired on DTH platforms like Tata Sky, Airtel, Videocon will be considered ineligible for submission of entries
• Writers-lyricists of non-fiction TV serial are not eligible for submission
• Writers-lyricists of Children’s Films/TV Serials/Web Series too are not eligible to submit their entries for this award.
• Non-Hindi language songs from a Hindi film, TV Serial or Web Series will not be considered eligible for entry for the awards. Similarly, Hindi songs from a non-Hindi film, TV Serial or Web Series will also not be eligible for submission.
• If a writer has been found guilty in any case relating to sexual harassment or is undergoing a trial against him, then that person will not be qualified to submit an entry
• No song will be considered eligible for this award unless it has been featured in a film, television series, or web series.
• Members of the Award Committee are not permitted to submit entries.

Terms and Conditions (Submission Procedure):

• The category of TV Serial/Web Series includes Comedy, Thriller, Family, Horror, Biopics, Mythological and all other genres.
• Please submit separate entries for more than one category and/or for more than one TV Serial, Web Series and Songs.
• Any writer who has written for all three categories of story, screenplay, and dialogue in a film, television series, or web series is eligible to nominate for all three in separate categories.
• If the entire script or story, screenplay, dialogues, and lyrics are written by more than one writer, any one writer can fill in the entry on behalf of the team, nevertheless all the writers on that team will be eligible for the awards.
• If multiple writers are working on the same TV serial/web series, they can individually submit two consecutive episodes for which they have been credited.
• Only the author can submit the entry form. No one else can do this on his/her behalf. However, in the event of death, their relatives can submit the entry for the award along with the death certificate, which will have to be submitted.

Your entry will be cancelled under these circumstances:
If there is an ongoing or proven case of copyright infringement or script piracy and the author knowingly hides this information, the entry of that author, writing team, or lyricist will be immediately disqualified.

Exclusive:
SWA may make changes to its guidelines and conditions at any time, which will be communicated to the members through its website. Any dispute relating to the award will be settled in the courts of Mumbai.

Terms and conditions regarding the submission:

Feature Films:

• Submission of entry is not required for the story, screenplay and dialogue of films.
• All Hindi films, which have been released either in cinemas in India or on any OTT platform in India during the period from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, are automatically included in the SWA list.
• For TV shows and web series, episode length should not be less than 20 minutes.
• The list of all the films being considered for the Film Awards will be published on the SWA website. If any writer feels that her/his particular film (released in the year 2021) is not on the list, the writer can communicate with the awards committee at awards@swaindia.org

Lyrics:
For the song from the movie, the lyricist has to fill in the entry himself, and while filling out the entry, the link to the song as well as the pdf of the lyrics have to be uploaded.

TV Serial & Web Series:

• Writers for Television and Web Series and lyricists will have to fill out the online entry form; General information and rules are as follows:
• For the story category of the TV serial, the broad story of the serial has to be submitted, which should be about 5 to 10 pages. Its font size should be 12 and it has to be uploaded in PDF format at the time of filling out the submission form.
• For the episodic story category of the TV serial, submission forms from the writers of TV serial should include links to five consecutive episodes of their choice along with a password (if your links require a password).
• Submission forms from the writers of TV serial and Web Series should include links to two consecutive episodes of their choice for the screenplay and dialogue category, along with a password (if your links require a password).
• The PDF of the lyrics of the song has to be uploaded along with the submission form. The name of the film, TV serial or web series has to be mentioned along with it.
• Please upload written lyric/s in PDF format along with the form. Please mention the name of the Film, TV Serial or Web Series it featured in.
• If you are unable to upload the documents online, please submit the hard copy of the Song or kindly submit it on a pen drive at SWA office.

एसडब्ल्यूए अवॉर्ड 2022

सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्क्रिप्ट लेखन एवं गीत पुरस्कार !

“एसडब्ल्यूए अवॉर्ड” स्क्रीन राइटर्स एसोसिएशन का वार्षिक अवार्ड समारोह है। इसे 2020 में स्क्रीनराइटर्स एसोसिएशन के डायमंड जुबिली (हीरक जयंती) वर्ष के अवसर पर शुरू किया गया था। यह भारत की एंटरटेनमेंट इंडस्ट्री का एकलौता और अनूठा अवार्ड है, जो हिंदी भाषा की फिल्मों, टीवी सीरियलों एवं वेब श्रृंखलाओं के लेखकों और गीतकारों को दिया जाता है। किस विधा में किसे अवार्ड दिया जाएगा इसका निर्धारण एंटरटेनमेंट इंडस्ट्री के विभिन्न माध्यमों के प्रतिष्ठित लेखकों-गीतकारों की जूरी के श्रेष्ठ चयन के आधार पर किया जाता है।

उद्देश्य
इस समारोह का उद्देश्य स्क्रिप्ट राइटिंग की विभिन्न श्रेणियों में वर्ष की श्रेष्ठ स्क्रीन राइटिंग को रेखांकित और सम्मानित करना है, ताकि अच्छे लेखकों और गीतकारों से एंटरटेनमेंट वर्ल्ड वाकिफ हो सके और लेखन का श्रेष्ठ कंटेन्ट निर्माताओं और ब्रॉडकास्टरों को मिल सके। श्रेष्ठ लेखन का चयन टिकट बॉक्स ऑफिस, टीआरपी, कुल कमाई या लोकप्रियता के बजाय लेखन कला (कंटेन्ट और क्राफ्ट) की गुणवत्ता के आधार पर किया जाता है।

अवार्ड की श्रेणियाँ

यह अवार्ड स्क्रिप्ट राइटिंग के विभिन्न माध्यमों में लेखन की कई श्रेणियों में दिया जाता है! वे इस प्रकार हैं-

फिल्म

फिल्मों के लिए दो प्रकार के अवार्ड हैं, 1. नवोदित लेखकों के लिए.   2. नियमित लेखकों के लिए.
इन दोनों प्रकारों में लेखन की तीन श्रेणियों के लिए पुरस्कार दिए जाएंगे।

• सर्वश्रेष्ठ कथा लेखन
• सर्वश्रेष्ठ पटकथा लेखन
• सर्वश्रेष्ठ संवाद लेखन

टीवी सीरियल

टीवी सीरियलों में टीवी सिरीज़ के अवार्ड हैं और इसमें सर्वश्रेष्ठ कथा, सर्वश्रेष्ठ पटकथा और सर्वश्रेष्ठ संवाद के लिए अवार्ड दिए जाएंगे।

वेब सीरीज

इसी तरह वेब श्रृंखला में दो विधाएं हैं

• वेब सीरीज के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्क्रिप्ट- ओरिजिनल
• वेब सीरीज के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्क्रिप्ट- एडपटेशन (पुस्तक / उपन्यास / खेल पर आधारित)

इन दोनों विधाओं के लिए अलग अलग सर्वश्रेष्ठ कथा, सर्वश्रेष्ठ पटकथा और सर्वश्रेष्ठ संवाद के लिए अवार्ड दिए जाएंगे।

गीत

गीत लेखन के लिए दो तरह के पुरस्कार हैं,

• सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीत – फिल्म के लिए, और
• सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीत- टीवी सीरियल और वेब श्रृंखला के लिए

इस श्रेणी में टीवी सीरियल और वेब सीरीज दोनों माध्यमों के गीत शामिल किए जाएंगे और सभी शामिल गीतों में से किसी एक गीत को सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीत का अवार्ड दिया जाएगा।  

प्रविष्टि भरने से पहले की जरूरी जानकारी

• लेखक – गीतकार का एसडब्ल्यूए का सदस्य होना जरूरी नहीं है।
• इसके लिए किसी भी तरह का कोई शुल्क नहीं देना है।
• वही फिल्में जमा की जा सकती हैं, जो फिल्में भारत के किसी सिनेमाघर या भारत में किसी ओटीटी प्लेटफॉर्म पर प्रदर्शित की गई हों। अगर फिल्म सिर्फ किसी भारतीय या अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म समारोह में दिखाई गई हों, तो वो फिल्म प्रविष्टि के लिए योग्य नहीं मानी जाएंगी।
• यूट्यूब पर रिलीज की गई फिल्म या वेब सीरीज के लेखक भी अवार्ड के अपनी प्रविष्टि जमा कर सकते हैं, अगर फिल्म या वेब सीरीज बनाने वाली प्रोडक्शन कंपनी मुंबई स्थित चार प्रोड्यूसर एसोसिएशनों में से किसी भी एक प्रोड्यूसर एसोसिएशन का मेम्बर हो और निर्माता ने लेखक के साथ बाकायदा कॉन्ट्रैक्ट साइन किया हो।
• सीक्वल के मामले में सीक्वल के लेखकों को पहले सीज़न के लेखकों से अनुमति लेने और प्रस्तुत करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। हालांकि, जीतने परसीजन-1 के लेखकों के नाम सीजन २  के लेखकों के नाम के साथ घोषित किए जाएंगे।
• प्रविष्टि के लिए सिर्फ वही लेखक-गीतकार योग्य हैं, जिनका नाम परदे पर हो, लेकिन यदि आपका नाम एसोसिएट राइटर, स्क्रिप्ट कंसल्टेंट या हेड के तौर पर आया है, तब इस अवार्ड के लिए आप प्रविष्टि पत्र नहीं भर सकते।
• यदि कोई लेखक किसी श्रेणी के लिए प्रविष्टि प्रस्तुत करना चाहता है, लेकिन निर्माता और / या चैनल उससे यह करने के लिए मना करते हैं, तो भी लेखक अपनी प्रविष्टि जमा कर सकते हैं, क्योंकि एसडब्ल्यूए किसी अन्य मीडिया या प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर फिल्म /टीवी सीरियल / वेब श्रृंखला की स्क्रीनिंग नहीं करेगा।इसलिए निर्माता या चैनल की अनुमति की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
• नामांकित फिल्म, टीवी सीरियल, वेब सीरीज की स्क्रिप्ट और/ या गीत पर एसडब्ल्यूए केDSC या किसी अन्य ट्रेड यूनियन में या कोर्ट में कॉपीराइट उल्लंघन या स्क्रिप्ट चोरी का केस न चल रहा हो या साबित न हुआ हो।
• एसडब्ल्यूए कार्यकारिणी समिति के सदस्य भी प्रविष्टि भर सकते हैं।

आवेदन और पात्रता :

ये प्रविष्टि नहीं जमा कर सकते

• डब की गई फिल्में, , शॉर्ट फिल्में या 70 मिनट से कम अवधि की फिल्में इस अवार्ड प्रक्रिया में शामिल नहीं हो सकतीं।
• लेकिन टाटा स्काई, एयरटेल, वीडियोकॉन जैसे डीटीएच प्लेटफार्म पर प्रसारित कार्यक्रमों के लेखक प्रविष्टि जमा नहीं कर सकते, वे अयोग्य माने जाएंगे।
• नॉन फिक्शन टीवी सीरियल के लेखक-गीतकार भी प्रविष्टि नहीं भर सकते।
• चिल्ड्रेन फिल्म, टीवी सीरियल और वेब सीरीज के लेखक-गीतकार भी इस अवार्ड में प्रविष्टि जमा करने के योग्य नहीं हैं।
• हिंदी फिल्म, टीवी सीरियल या वेब सीरीज़ के गैर-हिंदी भाषी गीत पुरस्कारों के लिए प्रविष्टि भरने के योग्य नहीं माने जाएंगे, इसी तरह गैर हिंदी फिल्मो, टीवी सीरियल या वेब सीरीज़ के हिंदी गीत भी प्रविष्टि के अयोग्य होंगे।
• यदि कोई लेखक यौन उत्पीड़न से संबंधित किसी मामले में दोषी पाया गया हो या उसके खिलाफ केस की सुनवाई चल रही हो, तो वह व्यक्ति प्रविष्टि भरने के योग्य नहीं होगा।
• फिल्म, टीवी सीरियल और वेब सीरीज में स्क्रीन पर दिखाए गए गीतों के अलावा अन्य किसी भी गीत को इस पुरस्कार के योग्य नहीं माना जाएगा।

अवार्ड कमिटी के सदस्य अपनी प्रविष्टि जमा नहीं कर सकते।  

प्रविष्टि पत्र भरने के नियम व शर्तें

• टीवी सीरियल/वेब श्रृंखला की श्रेणियों के तहत ड्रामा, कॉमेडी थ्रिलर, पारिवारिक, हॉरर, बायोपिक्स, पौराणिक और अन्य सभी जोनर शामिल हैं।
• एक से अधिक श्रेणियों में और / या एक से अधिक टी वी सीरियल, वेब सीरीज और गीतों के लिए कृपया अलग अलग प्रविष्टि जमा करें।
• कोई भी लेखक, जिसने फिल्म, टीवी सीरियल या वेब सीरीज में कहानी, पटकथा और संवाद की सभी तीन श्रेणियों के लिए लिखा है, वे सभी श्रेणियों के लिए अलग अलग श्रेणियों में नामांकन कर सकते हैं।
• यदि पूरी स्क्रिप्ट या कहानी, पटकथा, संवाद और गीत एक से अधिक लेखकों द्वारा लिखा गया है, तो कोई भी एक लेखक टीम की ओर से प्रविष्टि भर सकता है, लेकिन उस टीम के सभी लेखक पुरस्कारों के पात्र होंगे।
• यदि एक ही टीवी सीरियल/वेब सीरीज़ में कई लेखक काम कर रहे हैं, तो वे व्यक्तिगत रूप से लगातार दो एपिसोड प्रस्तुत कर सकते हैं, जिनके लिए उन्हें श्रेय दिया गया है।
• प्रविष्टि पत्र सिर्फ लेखक ही भर सकते हैं, यह काम उनके बदले कोई और नहीं कर सकता। किन्तु, मृत्यु की स्थिति में उनके परिजन पुरस्कार के लिए प्रविष्टि भर सकते हैं; साथ में मृत्यु प्रमाण पत्र जमा करना होगा।

इन परिस्थितियों में आपकी प्रविष्टि रद्द कर दी जायेगी

1. कॉपीराइट उल्लंघन या स्क्रिप्ट चोरी का केस चल रहा हो या साबित हो गया हो, ऐसी सूचना अगर आप छुपाते हैं उस लेखक या लेखन टीम या गीतकार की प्रवष्टि को अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया जाएगा।

विशेष : 

एस डब्ल्यू अपने दिशा निर्देशों और शर्तों में कभी भी बदलाव कर सकता है, जिसकी जानकारी सदस्यों को अपने वेबसाइट के माध्यम से दी जायेगी। अवार्ड से जुड़े किसी भी विवाद का निबटारा मुंबई की अदालतों में होगा।

प्रविष्टि जमा करने से संबंधित जानकारी, नियम व शर्तें  

फिल्म

कथा, पटकथा और संवाद के लिए–

• फिल्मों के कथा, पटकथा और संवाद के लिए प्रविष्टि जमा करने (एंट्री सबमिशन) की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
• वे सारी हिंदी फ़िल्में, जो या तो भारत के सिनेमाघरों में या भारत में किसी ओटीटी प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर 1 जनवरी 2021 से लेकर 31 दिसंबर 2021 तक की काल अवधि में रिलीज़ हुईं हैं, उन फिल्मों को एसडब्ल्यूए स्वतः सूची में शामिल कर लेता है।
• टीवी सीरियल और वेब सीरीज के लिए एपिसोड अवधि 20 मिनट से कम नहीं होनी चाहिए।
• फिल्मों की सूची एसडब्ल्यूए अपने वेबसाइट पर प्रकाशित करता है, यदि किसी लेखक को लगता है कि उनकी फिल्म वर्ष 2021 में रिलीज़ हुई है, किन्तु सूची में शामिल नहीं है, तो वह अवार्ड कमिटी को awards@swaindia.org संपर्क कर अपनी फिल्म के बारे में अवगत करा सकते हैं।

गीत के लिए

लेकिन फिल्म के गीत के लिए गीतकार को स्वयं प्रविष्टि भरनी होगी और प्रविष्टि भरते समय गीत के लिंक के साथ–साथ गीत के बोल का पीडीएफ भी अपलोड करना होगा।

टीवी सीरियल और वेब सीरीज

टीवी सीरियल, वेब सीरीज लेखकों और गीतकारों को ऑनलाइन प्रविष्टि पत्र भरना होगा- जानकारी और नियम इस प्रकार हैं-

• सीरियल टीवी सीरियल की कथा श्रेणी के लिए सीरियल की ब्रॉड स्टोरी भेजनी होगी, जो कि 5 से 10 पृष्ठों में हो। उसका फॉण्ट साइज 12 हो और उसे पीडीएफ प्रारूप में प्रविष्टि पत्र भरने के समय अपलोड करना होगा।
• या फिर टीवी सीरियल की कथा श्रेणी के लिए सीरियल के लगातार पांच एपिसोड जो उन्हें सबसे बेहतर लगते हों, प्रविष्टि भरते समय एपिसोड के लिंक के साथ उल्लेख करना होगा। साथ ही, यदि आपके लिंक को पासवर्ड की आवश्यकता है, तो पासवर्ड भी उपलब्ध कराना होगा।
• टीवी सीरियल और वेब सीरीज लेखकों को पटकथा और संवाद के लिए सीरियल/सीरीज के लगातार दो एपिसोड- अपनी पसंद के दो एपिसोड, जो उन्हें सबसे बेहतर लगते हों, प्रविष्टि भरते समय एपिसोड के लिंक के साथ उल्लेख करना होगा। साथ ही, यदि आपके लिंक को पासवर्ड की आवश्यकता है, तो पासवर्ड भी उपलब्ध कराना होगा।
• गीत के बोल का पीडीएफ प्रविष्टि पत्र के साथ अपलोड करना होगा। साथ ही, फिल्म, टीवी सीरियल या वेब सीरीज के नाम का भी उल्लेख करना होगा।

यदि आपको ऑनलाइन सबमिशन में कोई समस्या आ रही हो, तो आप पेन ड्राइव के माध्यम से या हार्ड कॉपी एसडब्ल्यूए कार्यालय आकर एपिसोड/गीत जमा कर सकते हैं।
